01 Acceptance
Acceptance and Scope of Terms
Welcome to Ubiquitus.org ("Ubiquitus," "we," "us," or "our"), an experimental Universal Basic Income platform. By accessing, using, or creating an account on our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services.
These Terms apply to all users, including but not limited to visitors, registered users, contributors, and payment recipients.
02 Services
Platform Description and Services
Core Service: Ubiquitus operates an experimental Universal Basic Income (UBI) distribution system that provides regular payments to verified participants.
Pool Stewardship: The community pool is held in a prudent, diversified, low-cost index fund. It is not an automated or AI-driven trading service. Trades are placed only when a human operator runs a periodic rebalance — never automatically on your behalf.
Payment Processing: We facilitate payments through third-party services including Venmo, PayPal, and other approved payment processors.
Community Platform: We provide a platform for users to track their participation, view impact data, and engage with the UBI community.
03 Eligibility
Eligibility and Account Requirements
Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years of age to participate in Ubiquitus services.
Jurisdiction: Services are currently available only to residents of the United States with valid payment processor accounts.
Account Limits: Each individual is permitted only one account on Ubiquitus. Creating multiple accounts will result in immediate termination of all associated accounts.
Verification Requirements: To receive payments, users must complete our verification process, which includes providing accurate personal information and completing micro-payment verification through approved payment processors.
04 Conduct
User Responsibilities and Prohibited Conduct
Accurate Information: You agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information during registration and verification processes.
Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.
Prohibited Activities: You may not:
- Create multiple accounts or attempt to circumvent verification systems
- Provide false or misleading information
- Attempt to manipulate, exploit, or abuse our payment systems
- Use our services for illegal activities or money laundering
- Reverse engineer, hack, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users or our staff
05 Financial
Financial Terms and Payment Processing
Contribution Structure: All contributions to the UBI Fund are voluntary donations. Contributions are not investments and do not guarantee returns or specific payment amounts.
Contributions are gifts — not investments. Once processed, they are final and non-refundable.
Non-Refundability: All contributions are final and non-refundable once processed, except as required by applicable law.
Payment Distribution: UBI payments are distributed based on available funds and our distribution algorithm. Payment amounts and frequency may vary and are not guaranteed.
Payment Processing Fees: Third-party payment processor fees may apply to both contributions and distributions.
Tax Responsibilities: Recipients are responsible for reporting payments as income and paying applicable taxes. We may provide tax documentation as required by law.
06 Pool & Risk
Pool Stewardship and Risks
How the pool is held: The community pool is held in a prudent, diversified, low-cost index fund. There is no automated or AI-driven trading service. A human operator rebalances the portfolio only on a periodic basis. Even so, holding assets in a market carries inherent risks, including:
- Market volatility and the potential for losses in value
- Operational or technology failures
- Unexpected market conditions that reduce the value of the pool
No Investment Advice: Nothing here constitutes investment advice, and contributions are not investments. The value of the pool is not guaranteed and may decline.
Risk Acknowledgment: By participating, you acknowledge that contributions are one-way charitable gifts with no promised return, and that the experimental nature of the pool carries inherent risks that could affect payment amounts or availability.
07 Privacy
Privacy and Data Protection
Data Collection: We collect personal information necessary to operate our services, as detailed in our Privacy Policy.
Financial Data: We may collect and store financial information necessary for payment processing and verification.
